(lasts 10-11 days at the Improvement of Health serving):
1. Boil 4 liters of distilled water or spring water in a large pot.
2. Add 113 grams of Essiac herbs.
3. Simmer for ten minutes, stirring occasionally.
4. Leave tea in pot, turn off heat, and let the mixture sit at room temperature for twelve hours.
5. Pour the tea into a container and refrigerate (any container that you'd use for lemonade or iced tea is fine).
Note: Do not brew Essiac Tea to keep on hand for longer than 2 weeks. It may spoil after 2 weeks. Try cutting the water used and the amount of herbs in half if you have some left over after 2 weeks. Always adjust the amount you brew at a time accordingly.
(lasts 5-6 days at the maintenance serving):
1. Boil 1 liter of distilled water or spring water in a large pot.
2. Add 30 grams of Essiac herbs.
3. Simmer for ten minutes, stirring occasionally.
4. Leave tea in pot, turn heat off, and let the mixture sit at room temperature for at least twelve hours.
5. Pour the tea into a container and refrigerate (spring water container or glass bottle).
Note: Do not brew Essiac Tea to keep on hand for longer than 2 weeks. It
may spoil after 2 weeks. Try cutting the water used and the amount of
herbs in half if you have some left over after 2 weeks. Always adjust
the amount you brew at a time accordingly.
Take your Essiac Tea on an empty stomach for best results. The is means you need to avoid eating 2 hours before you take your Essiac and 1 hour after you take it.
If you have a health condition that you'd like to improve, we recommend that you take 270 mL of tea per day, divided into three 90-mL servings.
If you are currently being treated with chemotherapy and/or radiation, we recommend that you take 270-540 mL of tea per day, divided into three 90-180 mL servings.
If you are simply trying to maintain your good health, take 90 mL wice per day.
Do not brew Essiac Tea more than two weeks ahead: it will stay good for about 14 days, but after that you should make a fresh batch of tea.
If you do not like the taste of Essiac, you may mix it with natural fruit or vegetable juice. It's best to consume Essiac Tea cold straight from the fridge without reheating, as that risks overprocessing it.
