Some folks are concerned that, if they take Essiac on an empty stomach as recommended, they won’t have the opportunity to consume enough food, especially if they are underweight.
While it does take some planning, rest assured – it’s totally possible to have three meals AND three snacks a day while still following the essiac-on-an-empty-stomach rule.
The dosing schedule recommended to improve health is 3 oz. three times per day. Once
you are 100% healthy then you can move to 3 oz. twice per day.
There are still many opportunities to eat even when taking the essiac tea three times per day. You can have food 1 hour after essiac and 2 hours before your essiac.
For example, if you have Essiac at 6am, Essiac at noon, and Essiac at 6pm then your eating windows are 7am-10am, 1pm-4pm, and 7pm-11pm.
-Wake up 6am, take essiac.
-Breakfast at 7am.
-Snack at 10am.
-Take essiac at noon.
-Lunch at 1pm.
-Take essiac at 3pm.
-Snack at 4pm.
-Take essiac at 6pm.
-Dinner at 7pm.
-Snack at 9pm.
-Bed at 10pm.
That is six meals/snacks...plus you can have unlimited fruit or vegetable juice while taking essiac during the "empty stomach" time. You can also have black coffee, tea and water. Furthermore, you may take supplements and medications during the "empty stomach" time as well.
In this way you are able to consume as many calories as your body needs and still follow the empty stomach rule while taking the essiac tea!
